A professional traditional jazz band from the south of England that plays live music for your event.
In the USA the jazz we play is called Dixieland Jazz referring to any style of jazz started before 1940
This jazz band plays throughout Hampshire, Dorset, Sussex, Surrey, Wiltshire and the New Forest, all across the south of England, UK.

Acoustic Jass is a 4 piece jazz band playing traditional jazz in the New Orleans idiom, tunes with a beginning, middle and end, ballads & popular tunes of the early twentieth century.

You can hear this jazz quartet playing their live entertaining music at country fairs, book launchs, shop openings, concerts, clubs, parties, fetes, exhibitions, markets, promotions, receptions, boat trips, christenings, weddings, wedding receptions and funerals.

Although based near Southampton they are regularly found playing live music in Andover, Winchester, Romsey, Portsmouth, and other towns in Hampshire.

Q. Why are they called "Acoustic Jass"
A. Their instruments are Acoustic & they play jass, which was what Jazz was called before the move from New Orleans to Chicago as in "The Original Dixieland Jass Band". Some say that the name was changed because the J's were scratched out on their posters and other publicity material, but others say that jass was a rude word.
