Acoustic Jass

Acoustic Jass is a quartet (Trumpet, Clarinet / soprano Sax, Banjo & Sousaphone / Bass Sax) that play a mixture of well known traditional jazz & popular music of the early 20th century.

The band's music is truly acoustic although they can use amplification for singing and chat.  This band has the advantage are that they don't need a lot of space, they are mobile and pay attention to the volume level.

Acoustic Jass has played music at parties and dinner dances in hotels, village halls, marquee's, Yacht clubs, stately homes, boats and Ships

Acoustic Jass tailor the choice of music according to the clients wishes. If you want background music during a meal or exciting foot tapping dancing music for a party this jazz band can provide it. For larger venues and static performances Acoustic Jass does use amplification this allows for vocal refrains necessary for some of their repertoire.

It just goes to show - we are the icing on the cake!

Acoustic Jass are available to help your party go with a swing and make it that bit more specal.

Acoustic Jass has many tunes on their list, mainly from the 1900's, to 1940's. including well known tunes like All of Me, Creole Love Call, Avalon, Honeysuckle Rose, Bye Bye Blackbird. Most of these were recorded at some time by Louis Armstrong, but then he recorded the best tunes of the era, however Acoustic Jass is not a Louis Armstrong tribute band.

If you would like the band to play a special tune not currently in their repertoire they will learn it for you (provided it fits their style!) and, unusually for a jazz bands they have some waltz's  in their repertoire.

Please note Acoustic Jass has a regular line up of players, unlike some other jazz bands, they never take a booking and then provide a substitute band, what you book is what you get, see the Frequently Asked Questions page. This enables them to provide a polished professional performance tailored to the bookers requirements.
